Ad is upcoming. Euro delivery still available, will still ship to the US if needed. Price still $4500. Not a show car, but solid, straight, mechanically sound with a good running straight six and a good interior. Please tell me what you think about pictures and text. Any clear omissions or too much information?
I’m thinking about adding the following in the ad after an introductory paragraph:
Optical:
Angry brow removed
Aftermarket steering wheel swapped for an original leather one
Driver seat replaced with a fabric-matching not-ripped one
Shift boot replaced
Period correct (built sheet correct!) BMW radio
Mechanical:
Muffler replaced
Rear brake discs, pads and lines (front to back!) replaced
Radiator replaced
Fan clutch replaced
Lots of things new-ish. Timing belt and tires only 5k km old, as an example.
Downsides:
Headliner isn’t great
Some rust. Front doors (bottom), hatch (bottom), sunroof plate. All fixable, all on easily removable items. Other than some bubbles on the sunroof it’s nothing that’s clearly visible on the outside.
Some imperfections/scratches in paint, nothing out of the ordinary given age/mileage.
One of the caps of the wheels is missing see pictures). Will try to source one.
Upsides:
Very original
(Lack of) rust: Front wheel arches great with original paint, rear wheel arches great due to a fix by a previous owner, hence the touched up color-matched but less shiny paint. Sills/jack points strong. Rear doors fine. Water canals of the sun roof fine. Rear bumper fine.
Body itself has no rust problems I know of, although if you look you will find a few very shallow spots.
Mechanically sound car, brakes are great, interior is good and matching with low wear

That’s the thing. Fly over, have a little road trip in it, and ship it to the US. Shipping is probably about $1500 or so. Step 1 is optional. It’s 26 years old, it’s legal in the US.

Man I love/hate the e30 tailgate.
Yesterday i parked my e39 touring next to an e34 touring, it was glorious

Stunning little bugger. All I have on me is coffee creamer, though.

Oh wow. Did not realize this was priced at an attainable level. I’m traveling for the next three weeks and hoping to list my E39 and pick up something new. Where will you be listing it? I would love to keep checking the ad to see if it’s still available in a month or so...

I haven’t listed it anywhere just yet. Depending on your seriousness I could hold it for you. My email address is listed above, if you’re interested.

I’d actually consider replacing my E30 coupe with this or at least try talking a friend into it if I didn’t live in California. Love living here but some unfortunate rules when it comes to cars. Would probably be one of the biggest markets for cars like this that are older than 25 years too otherwise.
